Evaluating innovation in environmental education

How can children be educated about the environment? Introducing environmental education into the curriculum implies broad and occasionally contradictory parameters of scientific knowledge, controversial attitudes, values, and belief systems. Such a curriculum also implies both local concerns and a global perspective. The complex, interdisciplinary nature of environmental education poses a particular challenge to evaluators.
This publication presents the proceedings of a conference designed to reflect on and work out some of the difficult issues concerning the evaluation of innovations in environmental education.
