This research represented an attempt to develop a refined understanding of what it means to conduct Internet outreach work and Internet-related technology innovation in environmental education. Using the approach of grounded theory as methodological framework, the research unfolded as an enquiry into prevailing theoretical perspectives on the Internet, computing, environmental education and innovation and as a pragmatic attempt to develop online resources for environmental education in South Africa.
