Abstract: This book encompasses the geographical and civic aspects of the SEC Environmental Studies syllabus. It is divided into six separate themes each consisting of a number of chapters. The six themes are: The World – Our Home; Management of Resources; Human Population; Human Communities; Work and Leisure, and Managing a Nation. The book is fully illustrated with original illustrations and pictures, and is accompanied by a glossary of terms and a bibliography. Apart from being an ideal reference and guide for the teacher, this book is also an excellent tool for the student of Environmental Studies. This book stimulates the student in the appreciation of the local environment within a Euro-Mediterranean and global perspective.
