Abstract: "There is a strong need to increase racial diversity within the environmental movement. The Literature Review demonstrates how role models play a formative part in the Significant Life Experiences (SLE) that creates environmentally responsible individuals. The influence of a role models increases the more a role model physically and experientially resembles an individual. The conclusion of this study aims to increase racially diverse role models who have contributed to the environmental movement."
