Kurzinfo: 70 pupils and 15 teachers at a Viennese School have found a new project with the topic 'Water' which was arranged in 4 phases. In summarising Eva Lackner considers it significant that both in the introductory phase and during work in the interest groups the pupils showed signs of individual initiative and active participation. It seems that more individual initiative and active participation evolved in the phases in which teachers offered more leeway and thus largely freedom of action to the pupils.
