Kurzinfo: In this paper Peter Posch wants to draw attention to two developments which have been observed in schools involved in environmental initiatives in a very broad sense of the word. The first development is the emergence of two traditionally 'non educational' tasks of schooling and the second is the emergence of non-hierarchical networks of communication facilitating joint ventures between schools and cooperation between schools and other institutions.
