Zusammenfassung Es wird die Frage gestellt, ob das literacy-Konzept (Grundbildung) der PISA-Studie eine neue Art von Allgemeinbildung darstellt. Verglichen mit dem Humboldtschen Konzept Allgemeiner Menschenbildung fällt die Antwort negativ aus. Es handelt sich nicht um ein Konzept allgemeiner Bildung, sondern um ein allgemeines Qualifikationskonzept, das auf Kosten der pädagogischen Fragestellung die erfolgsorientierte Bildungssteuerung optimiert. Summary This contribution asks whether the literacy-concept of the PISA studies simply represents a new perspective on general education. In comparison with Humboldt′s idea of an ″Allgemeine Menschenbildung″ this proposition must be rejected. It is rather a concept of general qualification, which neglects the pedagogical point of view in favour of optimizing the management of the educational system.
