PD Dr. Tobias Haller (1965), Department of Social Anthro-pology, University of Zürich, has studied social anthropology, geography and sociology in Zürich. He received bis PhD in 2001 and made his post doc (habilitation) in 2007 at the University of Zürich. He has conducted fieldwork in Northern Cameroon (1991) on traditional agriculture and in Zambia (2002-2004) on institutional change of common pool resource management (funds: Swiss National Science Foundation). He has been lecturer at the Department of Social Anthropology, Zürich, and is currently senior lecturer at the University of Zürich and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich. In 2003 he was a visiting scholar at Indiana University, USA. Projects: African Floodplain Wetlands Project (AFWeP), NCCRNorth South (Projects: IP6 [Tanzania-Cameroon], parks and peoples and political economy of coffee; Subjects: Natural resource use, New Institutionalism, Africa.
