Prospects and trends in adult education.
A selection of contemporary writing on project work.

Since the early 1990s, following the collapse of the Eastern Bloc, the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association (IIZ/DVV) has set up a number of projects to meet the challenges to adult education and development that have arisen. The aim of this publication is to provide access to recent writing about some of these projects and this volume contains translations of German language texts covering topics which have been identified as having the highest priorities in IIZ/DVV's projects with its partners. These include the paradigm shift from adult education to learning, institutionalised versus self-organised activities and the ongoing need for support services. The papers are presented under six themes.
